Volkswagen XL1 will be in production in 2013 and brought the technology to power hybrid, the Volkswagen Group CEO Martin Winterkorn confirmed the two-seater plug-in hybrid will hit the streets in low numbers in less than two years.
"We will start producing in small series in 2013 in Germany," said Martin told Automotive News as reported by Caradvice.
Volkswagen XL1 concept has previously been exhibited at the Qatar Motor Show in January. car is one of the most fuel efficient vehicles.
Volkswagen XL1 is powered by a 35kW 800cc two-cylinder TDI diesel engine and 19kW electric motor. speed from 0-100km/h about 12 seconds.
